The first project we want to tackle is converting our guest room/office into an office/ nursery. The room is actually quite large (15′-6″ x 11′-6″). These pictures help to visualize the room we are working with.
I know the yellow walls could work for a baby room, but I have disliked them since the day we moved in. Sorry, I just can’t do a yellow baby room. We do have some black furniture that I plan to reuse in the room (desk, bookcases), so this will be what ties the two spaces together. I don’t want the end result to look like a desk sitting in a baby room or a crib hanging out in an office space. Hopefully, our little girl will be smart, but she shouldn’t need an office for a couple of years (unlike the baby from the e-trade commercials). So the two spaces need to work as one visually but be separate.
Our goals for office/nursery:
- remove guest bed
- remove table and chairs
- clear book shelves to make room for storage boxes
- paint room
- install crown molding
- buy crib
- find old dresser to convert to changing table
- buy rocker/glider
- install new draperies and rods
- get artwork
- make mobile for above bed
- incorporate bedding into theme of room
