Family Friday
… A new series.
Last weekend I had all intentions of heading over to Jo-Ann to buy supplies for several projects I have in mind. Somehow I never got around to it and haven’t found the time to go this week either. So, that brings us to Friday with nothing new for me to share. I have good intentions to go this Saturday though.
Last week I shared the final reveal of our master bedroom. Which included lots of photos. In my attempt to not overstimulate you visually I had to refrain from including some pictures. One of the pictures that didn’t make the cut was my wedding portrait.
You can sort of see it in the picture above but it’s not a good close up.
This picture was taken just a few hours before our wedding on March 10, 2007. I was twenty-two and a little nervous. Haha! I didn’t get nervous until the night before the big day. Sleep the night before your wedding day is overrated anyway, right?
The portrait hangs on my side of the bed and is one of the first things you see when you walk into the room. When we were selecting the wall color one of the things that clenched the Sherwin William color Rain for us was that it pulled from the blue of the hydrangeas in the portrait.
I’ll share more about our wedding day another time. In a nutshell… I walked down the aisle, we said our vows, exchanged rings, were pronounced man and wife, and then kissed. You know how it goes. It was a special day to us with lots of memories though.
I apologize for not sharing more pictures of me… basically leaving some of you in the dark as to what I actually might look like. It’s kind of hard when I am the one handling the camera most of the time. Maybe one day I will do an “All About Me” post to make up for it.
I have good intentions of putting one of those About Me widgets on the right hand toolbar. I haven’t found one I like yet though. Does anybody have a good WordPress one? If so, do you have to use your avatar or will any picture work?
Thanks Jessica for requesting to see my wedding portrait. If you haven’t ever checked out Jessica’s blog Stay at Home-ista hop on over there right now. She has an amazing house out in California with some spectacular views. Seriously, you are missing out if you haven’t visited her yet.

Such a gorgeous picture! I love it! 🙂
Too funny – I’m always behind the camera too, and therefore rarely actually in a picture! Your gown is absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you! It’s funny how we don’t have many pictures of ourselves. In college I took a family dynamics class that talked about the absence of mothers from family photos. When I think about it I try to get ML to snap a photo of Noah and me.
Looking forward to reading more on Family Fridays =)
Pretty wedding photo; you were a baby!! I never got any solo shots of myself on our wedding day, which makes me sad. I’m jealous!!
Simply beautiful!! I’m not sure of a good WP widget for you but if I come across one, I’ll let you know!
