Football, Bugs, and Clothes

Well Labor Day has come and gone.  Time to put away the flip flops (unless you live in the South where it still feels like an oven) and pool toys and get ready for football and boots.  I don’t know about you but I am completely shocked that Fall is almost here.  That gives me a little more than two months to plan and prepare for Noah’s first birthday.  Ahhh!

Anyway, Michael Luke had to work yesterday.  For some odd reason hospitals don’t shut down for federal holidays.  Hmmm.  It’s not that big of a deal though.  We are used to it and thankfully he gets plenty of vacation time to make up for it.

So, while ML was away at work I stayed home and took care of Noah.  Poor thing was recovering from a nasty stomach bug.

Thankfully, this was the first time she had been sick except for the typical cold but still it was no fun.  She got to feeling better yesterday after she was finally able to keep some fluids down.  Poor thing ended up sleeping almost the entire day.  I can’t say I didn’t mind her wanting me to hold her a good bit of the time though.  Nothing like some extra bonding time.

There were a few pockets of time where I actually ended up with some free time.  So in preparation and excitement of the Fall season that is upon us I started planning how I want to decorate the house for Fall. I also found myself rearranging the kitchen… baby proofing a little and plotting out all the consignment sales I plan to hit up this month.

Consignment sales are the best.   You can totally rack up on a boat load of great looking name brand clothes for a fraction of what you would pay for them in the store…. and they still look brand new (some still are).  I mean think about it.  Kids generally only get to wear their clothes for one season and then they outgrow them… unless your the short kid like me.

So, while my Labor Day didn’t involve grilling out by the pool it was productive and got me in the mood for Fall.

What did you end up doing for Labor Day?  Was it a last farewell to Summer or have you already moved onto Fall?  Football season kicking off this past weekend did it for me… my mind is officially in Fall mode!

Thanks, Whitney! Thankfully she is all better now. It was nice just getting to spend some extra time holding her yesterday.

Thank you! Today was much better. She still can’t stomach solid foods but was able to keep all her milk down today. It just broke my heart to see her not feeling well.

I didn’t do too much on Labor day, but I did manage to have some BBQ and relax with my family.
