Sometimes as a mom, blogger, and occasional jewelry maker I forget one of my first loves… reading. Ever since someone gave me my first Baby-Sitter’s Club book back in second grade I have been addicted to reading. When I was little I used to read during commercial breaks, while riding in the car, and before bedtime… sometimes reading a book a day. Granted they were simple 100+ page chapter books but needless to say, I loved reading!
I can’t say that I have read that many books since Noah was born though. Except for the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, which was an awesome read and My Once Upon a Time, a wonderful autobiography of a missionary in the Dominican Republic whose husband died suddenly a few years ago.
Somehow in this crazy thing they call life I have found time to start reading two books recently. Yes, I am one of those crazy people who sometimes likes to read more than one at a time. The first book is Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness by Candace Cameron Bure, or better known as DJ from Full House.
Reshaping it All is a great book for viewing your body as God’s temple and treating it as such. It has really changed how I think about eating and what I am putting into my body. This is actually my second time to read her book. Let’s just say the first time I read it but didn’t apply any of the teachings and therefore it was a pointless read. This time I am taking it slowly and only reading a chapter a day letting everything sink in and slowly changing the way I view food, eating as an act of worship, and my body as God’s temple.
The second book I am reading is The Racketeer by John Grisham.
John Grisham is one of my favorite authors and we go way back. My mom used to let me miss school every year (all the way back to middle school) when he would come to Tupelo, MS to autograph books. We would stand in line with all the other loyal fans, normally in the cold, and wait our turn to talk with him in person and have a personal message penned on the front pages of our books. It’s been years since I have had one autographed in person but every year I still get an autographed copy from my parents.
I haven’t read enough of this book to really tell you a lot about it but if it’s like his others I am sure it will be worth reading if you are looking for a good mystery/crime novel.
So there you have it. That’s my reading for list for now. What are you reading right now? Do you occasionally read more than one book at a time? If do you like to mix two genres together? I do, normally a thinker and then one more of a reading just for fun book.

I used to love those babysitter club books. My friends and I wanted to make our own club…it didn’t go too well. Lol.
I have zero time to read these days! =(
I never had my own club but I did make my own activity box (or whatever it was) to take with me when I baby-sat. #funtimes
Enjoy your reading. The Candace book looks like an interesting read.
