A couple of weeks ago, Birmingham had a Parade of Homes. Where builders and developers showcase their latest houses in some of Birmingham’s newest neighborhoods.
Michael Luke and I aren’t in the market for a new house since we only plan to stay in Birmingham for a couple more years but if we were looking to spend a few hundred grand more on a house (which we are totally not) and planning on staying here in town long term this house would be definitely be our “dream house”.
This 3,620 sq.ft. house has everything we would ever need in a house. Including plenty of bedrooms for future little ones down the road as well an excellent floor plan for entertaining. It’s probably not everyone’s ideal house but we could definitely see our family living in something like this someday… especially if it came in a less expensive price range. There are so many things we love about this house but particularly the layout as well as the coastal vibe from the furnishing and color selection.
I thought it would be fun to share a tour of the house with you guys. Because who doesn’t love looking at new houses!
Entry:
Office to the right of the entry. Perfect setup for blogging… don’t you think?
Kitchen:
View from kitchen through dining area to living room.
Living Room: I love the height in this area. It’s great for making an intimate space not seem cramped.
Master Bedroom:
Master Bath:
This bathroom is a great inspiration room for how I want to redo our bath.
Heading Upstairs:
Loft/ Kid’s Retreat: What an amazing space for the family to hang out!
Play House: This was the best part of the house to Noah and something I will definitely try to incorporate into our future house.
This area is adjacent to the loft and was decorated with a play kitchen, shopping cart with groceries, table and chairs, and a chalk board wall.

This outdoor entertaining area was really cool. It is offered as an option in the small garage at the front of the house.
I wish I had shot a better picture of the front of the house so you could see where this is. It’s the part of the house that is to the right of the porte-cochere.
So what do you think of the house? Tell me what your favorite thing is about it. Could you see your family living here? Do you have a “dream house” … you may already be living in it. We really had a lot of fun that weekend… touring house after house. Each one had a personality of it’s own and we walked away with lots of new ideas that we would love to incorporate into our house. Maybe next time I’ll take pictures of the other houses too!

I LOVE going on home tours!!! And I really dig the dark walls in that office area……
I like the dark wall too. There were enough light objects in the room to keep it from feeling like a cave and it looked very sophisticated.
What a gorgeous house! I absolutely love going on open houses/touring homes, even though we aren’t in the market either.
You can get so many great ideas that way… plus it’s free entertainment… as long as you don’t buy. Haha!
BEAUTIFUL! What an awesome home. I love love love that kitchen! I want gray subway tile!
