Before writing this post and looking back at everything that I have shared this past year I really thought that it would be sad to look back and see how little I actually accomplished. While I may have fallen short of my 2014 DIY expectations and might not have been able to share a new home improvement post every week I now see that in 2014 I actually did accomplish a lot. And thankfully, since there is about a 0% chance that I will be scrapbooking any of this, I have the blog to look back at everything.
This past year was actually a world wind of sorts. First there was our crazy “nesting” phase where we gave the front foyer a complete makeover with a drop zone and a cleverly incorporated grandfather clock.
In early February we surprised everyone with our sudden trip to Hong Kong to bring home Esther. Over the course of the two weeks we were there I blogged about our entire experience. I’m so glad I did too because in reality it was a trip of complete exhaustion and many of the details in my mind have already become foggy. Our entire adoption journey from way back when we first started out and thought we would be adopting from Columbia up to now has been chronicled here at Color Transformed Family.
Two weeks after coming home from Hong Kong, Esther celebrated her third birthday.
The whole event was pretty low key which was for the best but I assure you there will be nothing low key about her 2015 birthday party. It’s only been a day seven or eight months in the making!
2014 also brought new opportunities to the table. Earlier this year I shared about a local music academy, stickandstrum, that I had the privilege of helping to select finishes and paint colors for.
Essential oils became one of our biggest helpers for Esther and her anxiety as well as many other aspects of each our lives. Because of my pursuit to find natural alternatives for our family’s health and to see other’s lives changed also I became an independent distributor for Young Living Essential Oils.
I never would have dreamed what a blessing this adventure would become. I lead an awesome team that has the same desire as mine and have the privilege of connecting with others as they choose to improve their health.
reupholstering our benches,
and doing a little painting in our master bathroom.
And since so much of this year was spent sharing about our newest addition Esther and her transition into her family I chose a couple of opportunities to share about Noah and her love all things green… like her green frog birthday party.
It’s been a crazy year… and like I tell my essential oils business builders, “The year isn’t over yet. There is still time to get stuff done!”
How do you plan to finish off your year?
