Crazy

Just dropping in to let you know life is a little crazy right now.  I have tons I want to tell you about.  Like… an adoption update, my new totally awesome phone cover, and our trip to The Chapel Market this past weekend. Ok, maybe only a few things but unfortunately I can’t seem to find enough free time to sit down and write you a good update.  Noah’s birthday party is next weekend and until then I am scrambling around trying to get everything finished in time.

This is a little preview of Noah’s dollhouse and party invitation!  Hopefully the house will look like that when we actually finish building it.
What fun things do you have going on right now? Do you have your Halloween costume picked out yet? I don’t and still don’t have any great ideas.  Maybe I should go as a crazy mom! You know… messed up hair, sweats, jumbo sized mug of coffee.

Unplugged

I’ve been a little MIA lately… like an ostrich with it’s head in the sand.  For the last week I have been almost completely unplugged from the world wide web.  No Facebook.  No Instagram.  No Twitter, Blogger, or Pinterest.  Nada.  So if in the past week you announced you were pregnant, got engaged, or had a baby let me know.  Seriously, because I’ve been out of the loop… and it was wonderful.  For the past week we have been at the beach!

Soaking up the sun when possible but mainly just enjoying time together as a family.  This was Noah’s first trip to the beach (or coming from her lips it sounds more like the name for a female dog) and she absolutely loved it.  She may need to work on those long “e” sounds.  In the meantime we made sure her fingers weren’t pointing at or towards anyone while asking to “go to the beach”.  The whole trip was a lot of fun and hopefully I will be back later to share some pictures.

In the meantime, I have spent today trying to get caught up on laundry and and hitting the gym to burn off all the extra calories I ate in the past week.  All this to say I don’t have the survey results ready to share from last weeks blogiversary. So if you missed it there is still time to fill it out and let your vote be counted.  Go on… rock the vote!  Last week I also mentioned that I hoped to share pictures from way back when we first bought our townhouse.  Well, ML and I both agree that we have them… somewhere but we have yet to find them.  All computers and external hard drives have been checked but I must be missing them somewhere. I promise whenever I find them I will share them with y’all.

In the meantime, tell me about your summer vacation(s).  Do you unplug when you go on vacation?  Or is it prime time for you to get caught up on all the latest Facebook happenings? The verdict is still out whether unplugging will become a vacation norm for me but I sure did enjoy it.  Who needs Facebook for entertainment when you can sit and enjoy the beauty and majesty of the beach that God created?  It blows my mind that his thoughts toward me outnumber the grains of sand!

Psalm 139:17-18
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them,
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I am awake, I am still with you.
(NIV Bible)

What a mighty and loving God he is!

Staying Alive

Tomorrow I am taking a CPR class at the hospital. I
must say I am little bit nervous since there is a test involved.

Not having to take tests is one of the perks of being an adult, right? So when one comes up it can’t help but bring back feelings of school and finals all over again. Thankfully there is a study guide available and Michael Luke brought it home for me to study. So tonight like a good little girl I will be reading the study guide. I joked with him the other night wondering how long could it possibly take me to learn the beat to Staying Alive (supposedly that’s the beat to remember when performing CPR on someone). In all seriousness though I am glad I am taking the class. I haven’t had a CPR class since high school and have forgotten a lot of stuff since then. And as a mom it’s definitely one of those things to know just in case my “Super Mommy” duties ever need to kick in! The class is offered at one of our local hospitals and is intended to give the employees an opportunity to keep their certification up.

Which means I will be taking the course with a bunch of
professionals whose daily attire is a little bit more sophisticated
than mine… jeans and a comfy top. I told ML that I was
going to have dress like an adult tomorrow. He offered to let
me wear his scrubs if I want… I think I’ll pass and come up with
something on my own. Do you have to regularly take a CPR class?
Do adult tests freak you out like they do for me? Or
are you one of those that enjoys the challenge? What’s your
go to professional look? Mine is some comfortable dress
pants, and a cute top accessorized with jewelry.

Update: Noah woke up with a cough and sore throat so it looks like I will taking the class another day. Thankfully I read a good part of the study guide so I feel a little more prepared in case there is an emergency.
