Essential Oils & Supplements During Pregnancy

I’ve only had the privileged of being pregnant once.  It was a fun time.  It was fun watching my stomach grow to proportions that I didn’t even know were possible.  It was fun feeling Noah kick inside of me and bump my insides each time she had hiccups.  It was fun knowing that God was using me to grow another human being who he desires will worship him and bring him glory.

Let’s be honest though, pregnancy comes with it’s own set of discomforts and nutritional challenges.  One thing that ML and I discovered while I was pregnant was that lots of medications were off the table.  If I got sick, I just had to get over it for the most part.  That sounds fun, right?

The next thing we discovered is the lack of regulation over vitamins and supplements.  I would like to rest assure that the fish oil capsule I am ingesting each day is truly a FISH OIL… and a good one at that!

I was pregnant before we discovered Young Living Essential Oils.  Which meant for the most part I had very few options when my body was feeling less than stellar. Thankfully, my OB/GYN did recommend pre-natal supplements that were quality tested so we were able to rest assured there.  If I ever do it again though I will have my trusty bag of oils by my side and will use Young Living Supplements. Why? Because of their Seed to Seal Process.  Each oil and supplement is quality tested and I know if it doesn’t meet their standards they aren’t going to use it.  THAT’S HUGE!

Below you will find a list of essential oils and supplements that may offer support during pregnancy.  Because so many products are listed I didn’t provide a description of each one.  I do however encourage you to look up the product descriptions on Young Living’s website. I’m not a doctor though, so check with yours before adding these to your routine.  I also encourage you  to do your own research.  Feel confident in how you choose to care for your body during pregnancy.  It’s your time to shine!

Seasonal Respiratory Support Trio

As I write this today I can already see the leaves changing outside my window.  This is a sign that some of the prettiest weeks of the year (to me) are just around the corner. It’s also a sign that it’s time to support the respiratory system.  Use this simple trio of essential oils to maintain your respiratory health and breathe easy during the next few weeks as everything else around you begins to change.

Seasonal Respiratory Support TrioSeasonal Respiratory Support (Roll-On)

  • Young Living Lemon Essential Oil (EO) – $0.04 a drop for members
  • Young Living Lavender EO – $0.07 a drop for members
  • Young LivingPeppermint EO – $0.07 a drop for members
  • Roll-on bottle (I use these from Amazon)

Add equal parts of each oil and one part grapeseed oil to a roll-on bottle or empty oil bottle.   Daily uses of this blend applied to the bottoms of feet or back of neck helps to support your respiratory system.

Seasonal Respiratory Support Trio (Diffuser Blend)

  • 3 drops Lemon Essential Oil (EO)
  • 3 drops Lavender EO
  • 3 drops Peppermint EO

Add the drops to your diffuser and fill with water.  This trio can also be used anytime you want to support your respiratory system.

Peppermint, lemon and lavender are cleansing oils, so diffusing these oils in your home on a regular basis will help support your respiratory system.  Lavender and Lemon are calming, cleansing, and support the body’s natural response to inflammation.  Peppermint helps to support healthy sinuses and nasal passages and may offer relief from the occasional headache.

Don’t wait around… be proactive and support your respiratory system before you find yourself in misery.  Nobody wants that.
